Lots of folks were out on vacation this month, but we had a few quilts for our show and tell feature at our July Little Women meeting. Linda has missed several meetings, so she brought some of her recent projects to get us all caught up with her progress. These quilts are from Kathy Tracy's Civil War Sewing Circle book. The quilt above is called "One-Patch Doll Quilt" and is super fast and easy--and fun!
That's the Civil War Stars Doll Quilt, above. Each little star is 4 inches square.
This is the "T is for Temperance" Quilt, above. I like the description Kathy gives in her book: "Although the Women's Christian Temperance Union was founded in 1874, reform movements supporting temperance gained ground in the years before the Civil War and had a profound impact upon women's rights. The official colors of the Women's Christian Temperance Union were blue and white and there was an abundance of quilts made in these colors toward the end of the nineteenth century." I do love a blue and white quilt! That really is my favorite 2-color quilt combination.
Linda's Civil War Scraps Doll Quilt, above.
That's Celestia showing off her Turkey Tracks, above and "Civil War Scraps Doll Quilt" below. I like the border treatment, with borders on the top and bottom only--none on the sides.
And a cute 9-patch quilt above, I believe the little blocks finish at 1.5 inches each. The strips are cut at 1" and each little patch is only 1/2". Definitely in the realm of "miniature quilts." By the way Celestia makes killer brownies! Thanks for bringing them to our Saturday club meeting, Celestia. They are awesome!
I do have some more show and tell, but will save them for another post. I hope you all are staying cool, and till next time, keep stitching!
Mary
Greet, but it would be better if in future you can share more about this topic. Keep rocking.
